At The Plastic Surgery Group, we strive to make your time with us relaxed and rewarding. Initial Intake

When you arrive on the day of your consultation, we will review your paperwork and discuss any insurance questions you might have.

Meeting with Your Surgeon
Because we value your time as much as you do, we do our best to begin your consultation as quickly as possible. We will show you to a private consult room where you will be introduced to your doctor and asked to describe the changes you'd like to make. Your medical history will be reviewed as well. We consider this part of the consultation to be a mutual interview, where both doctor and patient determine if they are a good fit for each other. We want you to feel comfortable speaking openly with your cosmetic surgeon and feel confident that your cosmetic goals will be achieved.

Physical Exam
Next, you will be shown to an examination room where you will change into a gown in private. Your doctor will return to examine your areas of concern and take pre-operative measurements and photographs. Afterwards, your doctor will step out of the room and give you a chance to redress.

Discussing Your Options
Once you are fully clothed, the doctor will return and review your procedure of interest in detail including pros and cons, surgical techniques, and possible risks. You will also have the opportunity to review before-and-after photos of previous patients to ensure you and your doctor have a common idea of your expectations. We make sure to provide plenty of time for you to ask questions and have any concerns addressed.

Next Steps
Finally, an office staff member will review fees and financing information and your scheduling options. You can schedule your procedure at this time or return for a subsequent consultation if you'd like to bring along a friend or family member. Although finding a practice you feel confident about and comfortable with are top priorities, cost is always a consideration when deciding whether to undergo plastic surgery in Albany, NY. Our friendly and knowledgeable office staff will thoroughly review the fees for your specific procedure during your consultation. Medical insurance providers consider most cosmetic surgery procedures to be elective, and therefore will not cover the costs. However, there are certain procedures that are often covered, such as breast reconstruction, as well as functional eyelid surgery and nose surgery.

Financing is available to qualified applicants through CareCredit and may include the costs of the procedure, anesthesia, and the facility where your surgery is conducted. The financing application process is fast and easy, and in most cases, applications are processed within just a few hours.

Once your loan has been approved, our business office will receive a fax notification from the financing provider. Your payment is expected within 10 days of your procedure. You will need to call our business office or your financing provider and arrange to have your loan papers signed 10 days before your surgery. Coming from out of town? A Few Things to Remember
Approximately 2 weeks before your treatment, we would like to receive some information about your health history. This includes any medications you are currently taking, any pre-existing health conditions, whether you use tobacco products, and any other types of health regimes you are following. You can simply call our office at (518) 438-0505 to give us this important information or complete our patient information form and health history online.

When you call, we will discuss with you the types of photographs of yourself that we would like in order to estimate your specific needs and start planning your surgery. It is important that you travel with someone who will be able to offer you any necessary assistance following your treatment and release.

Your Stay Will Be as Short as Possible
For our out-of-town patients, we arrange all appointments and medical procedures to occur successively. This optimizes your time, eliminates unnecessary traveling, and shortens your stay to just a few days after your procedure has been successfully completed.
